Want Email Solutions? Practice Random Acts of Email Kindness

We’ve all seen the bumper sticker telling us to practice random acts of kindness. Not many people actually do, but when you’re on the receiving end of such an act, you are full of warm fuzzy feelings and glowing all over.

So why not make those warm fuzzies among our subscribers and customers? This could possibly be the cheapest of email solutions and the most effective.

For me, I appreciate email marketing content that entertains, that helps me, that makes my life easier, that puts a smile on my face. Most of the email I receive from businesses fails at any of this. It’s the emails from my friends that make me smile. They are a treat while the emails from business are chore. Not always, but much of the time.

Which is precisely why I see an opportunity. What if your email marketing was written in a friendly, personal tone as though you were writing to a specific friend, not a faceless customer? How different would it be?

What if your emails randomly offered a special price or coupon, either for your products or a partner’s? The key here is randomly. If you regularly send out such discounts, your list expects them. I mean, out of the blue, send your subscribers some really cool deal to make them smile.

What if every once and a while you sent out emails with no other purpose than to be nice? Maybe you came across a funny cartoon or a heartwarming story to share. Why not send that to your list without any kind of call to action or hope for an ROI?

What do you think? Do you think you might build a more responsive, more engaged list if these random acts of email kindness starting showing up in people’s inboxes?

Do you have anything to lose by considering such kindnesses among your email solutions?
